Commit to Daily Self-Care

As self-care awareness month comes to an end, it is my sincere hope you are more intentional about taking care of yourself! My weekly blog focuses on the many ways you can practice self-care. Self-care is essential, and through my blog posts, I highlight practical ways it can enhance your psychological, physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial health. Every area of our lives benefits from focused self-care.

The practice of self-care must be intentional and conscious. It can be challenging to find time to focus on our overall wellness. We live in a busy world with constant demands on our time. Self-care must be a priority, or it simply will not happen. It should be a daily practice. Self-care can be thought of as an elaborately planned activity. For example, going to the spa or getting a massage. However, self-care can take any form. Making time for rejuvenation is imperative. It does not matter whether it is for five minutes or thirty. Make the time. Designate time each day to participate in an activity that refills your cup. It can be as simple as meditating, praying, or reading. These activities can be done in conjunction with another activity we enjoy such as working out, listening to music, or taking a bath.

Self-care is customizable and requires minimal effort. The hardest part is dedicating time to it. Committing fifteen minutes daily to focus on self-care will yield huge dividends. You will feel less anxiety, be more balanced and organized, and be more in control of your life. Do yourself a favor and commit to daily self-care.

Here’s to your health!
