According to Merriam-Webster, self-acceptance is the "act of understanding and recognizing one's abilities and limitations." It is the principle of accepting all of your attributes, whether positive or negative. Self-acceptance means acknowledging your faults and flaws as a part of your evolution. The process of maturation requires trial and error that results in self-discovery. Without adversity, there can be no growth or development. Accepting yourself means accepting your journey and every step (or misstep) taken. You are the result of your lived experiences. Here are a few things to remember on your journey to self-acceptance.
Know that you are enough just as you are.
No one can be you but you.
You deserve grace, especially when you make a mistake.
Take every opportunity to apologize when you are wrong.
Operate consistently in humility.
Forgive yourself and others.
Know who you are and whose you are.
Mistakes are like scars; they build character.
