Resilience In Trying Times

We are living in trying, uncertain times. The cost of living is fast out-pacing salaries. Gas prices are at an all-time high. The cost of goods is also increasing, and despite being two years into this pandemic, store shelves are often sparse. COVID continues to be a looming threat. It is an understatement to say times are tough.


The only constant is change, and for most of us, it can be scary and even crippling. Change is unpredictable and forces us to rely on our instincts and fortitude to cope. Change can even bring stress. Did you know that stress can negatively affect your health and well-being? When the body is in a state of stress, cortisol levels increase. That spike leads to an increase in appetite that makes us eat more. Increased cortisol also causes you to store more fat. We cannot afford to allow what is happening around us to affect what is happening within us.


Allow me to remind you that while we are in tough times you too, are tough! You have what it takes to overcome. You are capable of doing hard things. Dig deep and remember you are resilient.
