We are two months into the new year, and it is time to check-in. Many of you started the year with goals you wanted to achieve. How are you doing with your list? Are you holding yourself accountable? Are your goals in line with your present vision for yourself? If not, have you developed a plan to pivot and re-focus yourself? Have you identified things you are doing well and areas that need improvement? Achieving your goals requires constant self-evaluation. Let’s examine the steps necessary to achieve your goals and ensure you have a successful rest of 2023.

6 Steps to Achieve Your Goals:

1. Make sure your goals are realistic and attainable. Without realistic goals, you are setting yourself up to fail.

2. Write a solid, actionable plan and set realistic deadlines.

3. Be flexible, but realize discipline is a must. You must hold yourself accountable and stick to the plan, even when uncomfortable or inconvenient.

4. Be prepared to shift your goals as you go. As your circumstance changes, your goals might need to be adjusted. Adjusting is not a sign of failure. It allows you to keep the end goal in sight while accepting an alternate route to achieve it.

5. Be kind to yourself and accept that setbacks are a part of the journey. Success comes with persistence and consistent action.

6. Find an accountability partner. They should keep you on task and be committed to your success.

I want you to succeed in all the ways you imagine for yourself. Use these tips to move your agenda forward. The difference between goal setting and goal achievement lies in your determination and adherence to your plan.
